The trip included 2-day visit in the Amboseli National Park, 1-day visit in Lake Nakuru, and one day in the Masai Mara National Park. The accommodations in all the three parks were of extraordinarily high quality. The most important aspect of our perception of this Safari experience was the service we received from our tour guide Carlos. He was the best nature guide that I could imagine. He went out of the way to show us all the kinds of animals that live in the parks, including some of the animals that are hard to spot like the rhinos or lions. Carlos demonstrates a passion for identifying the places where the animals hide and explaining to the guests how the local nature works. We didn\u2019t know what to expect and almost did a self drive safari but are so glad we didn\u2019t. Our guide Hosea was amazing from start to finish. His enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for the job was joyful to be around. He knew the parks so well and always seemed to anticipate what the animals were thinking and where they were going. We had so many occasions where we had the best viewing spot all to ourselves. We also appreciated that Hosea showed respect for the animals and knew when to give them space. He was a safe and competent driver for the distances between parks, and the Land Cruiser was always clean and comfortable. He is extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and Tsavo National Park, and was always happy to share interesting information. He also has a great sense of humour, which made the days even more enjoyable. We saw an incredible range of animals, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffalos and many more. We still have no idea how he managed to spot a leopard resting in a tree while driving, his wildlife-spotting skills are seriously impressive. Baka made a real effort to find the animals we were hoping to see and was attentive throughout the safari. The vehicle was spacious and comfortable, and well stocked with water. The packed lunches were also very good and generous, which was much appreciated during our full days out in the park. It is always a bit stressful to book a travel at distance but Annastancia was always available to answer my questions. We had a great time during game drive with Kilonzo our driver and Barack our translator and guide. They were both very professional and so nice. Staying at Jambo Mara Lodge in the glass cottage was magical, with breathtaking views and total immersion in nature. The food was fantastic and consistently exceeded expectations.\n\nOur guide, Ali, was outstanding: knowledgeable, warm, and passionate. He made every game drive smooth, exciting, and memorable, and we always felt safe and comfortable. He found some lionesses on his own, and we were able to be alone with them which was such a unique part of our journey. The safari vehicle was super nice, spacious, and very secure.\n\nIf you are even considering a safari, you should absolutely go, and you should choose Mufasa Tours. I took a risk on booking a last-minute solo tour and got the best possible safari I could have hoped for. We started planning our Jan 2026 safari in March of 2025.\n\nPlanning: We started the research, made inquiries of different tour companies - we even attended a Travel &amp; Adventure Show to learn about safaris and safari tour operators. We always planned to include both Tanzania and Kenya in this trip and noted some key parks that we wanted to visit. Joseph of Mufasa, carefully noted our requirements: private photography safari, photo safari land cruiser, smaller lodges, visit to a conservancy, adding freight seat for luggage weight. He responded promptly and engaged with us in an active discussion as we developed and finalized our itinerary. When we changed plans either because we thought some more about it or because Joseph made a suggestion, he made us aware of the impact to the cost and the schedule. This was in stark contrast to our experience with the other tour companies that we reached out to. Some tried to make us pick just one country, some wanted to restrict us to specific parks and made us feel that our requirements were coming from a place of ignorance.\n\nOur trip ended up being a private tour for 2 people - a combination of short flights and drives. We ended up with a vehicle optimized for photography. Itinerary included:\nTarangire National Park\nNgorongoro Crater\nNdutu Area of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area\nMasai Mara National Reserve\nMara North Conservancy\nAmboseli National Park\nMufasa provided the Guide\/Drivers, arranged accommodations with the different lodges, as well as arranged for our flights, including the transfer service between Tanzania and Kenya guiding us through Kenya immigration. Things went smoothly and seamlessly.\n\nGuide\/Drivers: In Tanzania, our guide\/driver was Athum. He was very affable and friendly. In addition to his knowledge of the parks, the wildlife, the birds, he is a most skillful driver. There were some rough rides in the different parks and he managed the roads and the vehicle masterfully. He obviously had developed good relations with the other safari guides since they seemed to share a lot of information of animal sightings with him. When he realized that one of us was a photographer, he had the middle row seats removed from the vehicle for the rest of the trip to allow for freer movement to take pictures. Sandbags were available in the vehicle which were used to stabilize the cameras. At the end of the Tanzania leg, he brought us to the airstrip and waited with us until our plane arrived.\n\nIn Kenya, our guide\/driver was Kevin. He was so knowledgeable about the animals and the birds. With the animals, instead of getting with the crowd of safari vehicles, he knew where the animals would be headed and so we would be there before any of the others and we were able to view the animals in relative quiet for a time. He was quite a birder - in Masai Mara and Amboseli alone, he showed us over 170 different kinds of birds.\n\nLodges: Mufasa booked us into the following accommodations and they were all upper mid-range, comfortable and clean with good food.
