Best experience ever
Excellent organization of the holiday, everything was thought out, clearly, according to plan! It was very nice to receive gifts from the company (national-style blankets and water bottles). The driver Kefar always found the best places, views, told a lot of interesting things about animals, life in Kenya. It was the best trip of our lives! Best Trip Ever
When planning our very first trip to Africa, we did a ton of research and contacted almost the entirety of the top 20 safari providers on Trip Advisor. Mufasa was not only the most prompt, but also the most thoughtful. Joseph helped us plan our trip and we could not have asked for a more patient and detailed planner. I like to know what I’m getting into and even though I’ve travelled a lot, going to a new continent meant I had so many questions. Joseph took time to answer every single one. He was also the only person of all the tour providers we contacted who realized we would need an additional night at our hotel since we were arriving at 1 am. We settled on a variation of their 7 day flying safari. Joseph put together an itinerary that struck a balance between relaxation and adventure, making sure we had enough time at each location to fully explore and unwind. He actually warned us against itinerary stuffing and was very honest about the length of drives, flights and transfers. He also did an excellent job of categorizing and recommending accommodation options. There are so many camps and lodges it was overwhelming to research. We let Joseph know our preference for privacy and he narrowed down our choices to a much more manageable number. We ended up staying at Somerset Westview in Nairobi, Chui Lodge at Lake Naivasha, the River Camp in Ol Pejeta, and Sand River in the Masai Mara. All were wonderful. Communications, payments, even flight booking was made so easy. Because we were flying between destinations, we had a total of three guides. John in Nairobi, Charles in Lake Naivasha and Ol Pejeta, and Joseph (different Joseph) in the Masai Mara. All of them were brilliant! They were so flexible and thoughtful. We could really tell that they wanted us to see as much of the country as possible. John had youthful ambition and pride in his country which we so enjoyed. Charles is so knowledgeable about every location and we so appreciated his insights about Kenyan society. Joseph was incredibly fun and energetic and gave us an amazing adventure. Everyone is dedicated and hardworking. It was obvious that while we rested and relaxed, they planned, coordinated and cleaned and maintained their vehicles. I was really nervous about the airport pickup as it would be my first time flying into Nairobi. I never should have worried. Communication was so good. Responses on what’s app were instantaneous, and they found us no problem. Even at 1 am! We can’t wait to go back to Kenya and will definitely ask Mufasa to help us again. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate, this was one of the best trips we have ever had. Great safari with Mufasa and Walter!
Everything was excellent. Perfect preparation, communication and a whole organization of our safari from Mufasa Tours. Our guide Walter was really amazing, experienced guy who everytime knew where to stand to have the best position for watching the animals. You will have a new friend in Africa! Mufasa is the best of the best for a Safari
Going on a safari was a dream of my husband and mine. Somehow, Mufasa Tours (especially our tour guide Collins Sempele) made the safari even better than our best dreams. From the thoughtful itinerary customized to our interests to excellent accommodations to the best driving of any vehicle in any of the parks - Collins gave us the experience of a lifetime. Amazing 5-days private safari!
The contact with Mufasa Tours was great from the very beginning - quick replies and all questions were answered in a detailed way (thanks, Maryanne!). The most amazing holiday
It was amazing. All the days we stuck to the stated plan and never deviated from it. Our task was to fly into Nairobi and fly out of Nairobi, the rest was organized by Mufasa. Thank you Hosea, Joe and Mufasa!
Our journey with Mufasa began in December 2023 when I first emailed them to help plan our very first safari trip to Africa. From day one, Joe was incredibly helpful, patiently answering my endless questions until we crafted the perfect itinerary. Fast forward to mid-February, unforeseen circumstances arose when one of our passports was destroyed by a water spill on the same day as our trip, forcing us to cancel our flight. I assumed we had lost all our bookings and wouldn't receive any refunds. However, I reached out to Joe about the incident, and he promptly contacted Entim Mara Camp, where we were scheduled to stay. To my relief, he arranged a rescheduling option for us. I couldn’t have been more grateful for his swift assistance. Ten days later, we managed to fly in, greeted by the legendary Hosea!! Hosea was the highlight of our trip—a delightful blend of humor and knowledge, offering in-depth insights into Kenya's wildlife. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best safari experience possible. Plus, he was the best 4x4 driver! All in all, our experience with Mufasa, Joe, and Hosea was exceptional. Great arrangement had been made by Madam Caroline and her team. Mr Collins is great and I really appreciate the efforts put by him to make our safari a success and enjoyable. I shall never forget the hospitality and support extended by you. I shall again bother you during my next visit to Kenya. I have really fallen in love with the country. Mr John Mathia and his fellow partner was also fantastic. All the details of the entire safari were sincerely and meticulously webbed keeping in mind the best possible options. Epic adventure
It was an epic adventure! The experience was pleasant from the beginning. We reached out to Mufasa Travels looking at the reviews on Google. We contacted them with a very specific plan in mind and received the quote within a day. It had everything we wanted, and the payment instructions were clear and transparent. The trip itself was everything we could ever hope for when visiting a long-awaited trip to an unvisited country. Everything was well planned from the very first day. The pick-up was on time, the game drives were long and productive. The best part however was our guide Kevin. He is an ornithologist and a writer of kids book on birds. Not only did he know all about the animals but every single bird we saw. I have never noticed the biodiversity so close. My kids are now his biggest fans, they are so much interested in birds, insects flowers, and fauna. All thanks to him. We spotted everything, from Big 5 to migratory large birds to predatory birds. The volume of safari operators and tour guides in the Masai Mara is pretty overwhelming. I checked countless reviews and had contact with a number of operators. Mufasa stood out from the start, being attentive and professional. Pascaline was really helpful and sorted a great itinerary and assisted with easy payments. I planned a three day safari from Nairobi and from the moment our guide Nelson picked us up the experience was first class. We went with the land cruiser which was practically brand new, fully equipped with chargers and really comfortable. Really capable vehicle and skilled driver. We crossed a few rivers and it was so exciting! We stayed at Mara Maisha, which was also five stars from us great service and a lovely place. Nelson was excellent on the game drives we saw some amazing sights, lions, elephants, cheetah, leopard, hippos, crocs and much more! Suffice to say it was a trip of a lifetime and I wholeheartedly recommend Mufasa. Some of the other vehicles and operators looked a little worn out. My partner and I had an amazing time on safari with Mufasa tours. We were lucky to have Nelson as our guide. Nelson was a great diver, super fun and very knowledgeable about the park and animals. Our safari tour in Kenya and Tanzania was 20 days in total for my parents, while I joined them in the middle of the tour for 10 days. Every detail, from accommodation arrangements to game drives, was well planned by Mufasa Tours and Travels, ensuring a hassle-free and enjoyable trip. While the price tag was on the higher side, the impeccable organization and exceptional service made it well worth every penny.

What truly elevated our experience was our great guide, Moses. His passion for the wildlife was infectious and he was extremely experienced at his job, taking us to places where we would get a higher chance to see wildlife while being respectful of the animals and park rules. The vehicle was well-maintained and cleaned every day, and safety precautions were consistently observed, so we really felt in good hands with him.

The camps and lodges selected by the company were all very comfortable and immersed us in the heart of the wilderness. Our only negative critique would be that the lodge where we stayed at in the Serengeti National Park was quite far from where the wildlife was during that period of the year. Our other regret is that we only had one full day in the Serengeti, so we had a long drive that day from the lodge to get to the wildlife and the game viewing itself felt comparatively short. If your schedule allows it, I recommend staying at least 2 full days in that immense park.

One incident highlighted the exceptional customer service we received during our safari. My luggage did not arrive with me when I landed in Nairobi but was lost during my transit. Joel and the Mufasa staff in Nairobi went above and beyond to assist me, calling the airline and making trips to the airport to inquire about my luggage. In the end, as it was the Christmas holiday period, my luggage took many days to be located and could not be delivered to me as I was constantly moving to different areas, but they ensured that it was delivered to my departure airport in Tanzania. Their dedication to resolving the issue really allowed me and my family to focus on our holidays and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife without any worries and I am deeply grateful to them for that.

In brief, our tour with Mufasa Tours and Travels was a top-notch safari experience. If we get an opportunity to go on another safari, maybe during the Great Migration season, we will book with Mufasa Tours and Travels again!

We did a 7 day safari with Mufasa and it was great. Tony was our guide and he can spot animals from an impressive distance. He took it as a personal challenge to find all the animals we wanted to see (leopard, cheetah, lions, rhino, etc) and he succeeded :-D Tony also knows how to position the car such that you will get a good view of the animals. We had the leopard crossing very close to our car!

There are some minor things that could be improved:

* the roads are extremely dusty and the car was washed just once (or twice, I don’t remember exactly). So the car was full of dust during some of the safari days
* it would be nice to get more organizational details in the beginning (briefing about the car and the things we could use, schedule, etc). For example, I had a runny nose and I discovered in day 4 only that we have napkins in the car 😳

I am so happy we picked Mufasa tours for our safe experience. They customized our trip for us which we appreciated so we started in Arusha and ended in Nairobi. The guide for the first part was Hussein, and we loved him! He was so much fun and kept things light the whole time. He even helped me find my medicine at a local pharmacy. It felt like he was part of our group rather than a guide. For the 2nd part of the trip, we had Hosea. You could tell Josea was an experienced guide who knew exactly where to go. We asked to see cheetahs and BOOM! cheetahs. Same thing with leopards. We also really liked the accommodations they selected. Organising the tour prior was very easy. Carol was happy to answer all of our questions and she put together an amazing extended tour for our time in Kenya.
Our tour guide, Hosea, was highly knowledgeable about all of the amazing animals that we saw, very intuitive and accommodating to our needs as tourists. His extensive experience as a guide meant that he was ahead of the game and we were able to witness some incredible moments watching animals in their natural habitat.
