Frequently Asked Questions
What types of vehicles do Mufasa Tours and Travel offer for safari?
We primarily operate customized 4×4 Safari Land Cruisers and Safari Minivans. Land Cruisers feature higher ground clearance, heavy-duty suspension, and superior 4WD capability, making them ideal for rough terrain and muddy conditions during the rainy season. Minivans provide a cost-effective, smooth ride on paved roads and standard game tracks.
How safe and reliable are your safari vehicles?
Every vehicle in our fleet is fully insured with comprehensive Passenger Liability Insurance, holds official commercial transport permits and undergoes rigorous pre-safari mechanical inspections to ensure maximum reliability on rough terrain.
For complete field readiness in remote wilderness areas; all vehicles are equipped with:
Emergency & Recovery Gear: Two full-sized spare tires, a high-lift jack, tow ropes, sand ladders and basic repair tools to handle punctures and rough tracks easily.
Communication & First Aid: Long-range VHF radios for park-wide communication with rangers and other drivers (even where there is no cell signal), alongside a fully stocked first-aid kit.
Breakdown Support: In the rare event of a mechanical issue, our drivers use on-board radio systems to coordinate with nearby guides and our central operations team, with a backup vehicle dispatched immediately if needed to keep your safari running smoothly.
Will I be guaranteed a window seat?
Yes. We strictly limit guest capacity in our vehicles (typically maximum 6 guests in an extended 7-seater vehicle) so that every traveler is guaranteed a window seat with direct, unimpeded access to wildlife viewing and photography.
How do we view wildlife from inside the vehicle?
All our vehicles come equipped with pop-up roofs that open fully during game drives. This provides 360-degree standing views, excellent overhead shade and optimal angles for wildlife photography.
Can I charge my camera and phone inside the vehicle?
Yes.
Our safari vehicles are equipped with in-car power points, including USB charging ports beside each seat and power inverters, allowing you to keep camera batteries, phones and devices fully charged throughout your safari.
Is there cold water or refrigeration available during drives?
Yes. Every vehicle features a dedicated built-in mini-fridge or cooler box stocked with complimentary bottled water to keep your drinks cool throughout your safari.
How much luggage room is available inside the vehicle?
Our vehicles feature dedicated rear luggage compartments designed to hold standard safari duffel bags and suitcases. We ensure guest seating areas and footwells remain clear for maximum comfort.
What kind of training do Mufasa's tour guides undergo?
Our tour guides are certified professionals who undergo rigorous formal training and continuous field instruction to ensure an exceptional, safe and informative safari experience.
Their qualifications span several core areas:
- Certified wildlife and Eco-tourism expertise.
- Wilderness safety and first aid response.
- 4×4 defensive driving and vehicle maintenance.
